My cousin took this picture during the church camp here... I love playing with swings... When you swing high, you feel as feel you are flying... The feeling of being free... Posted by Hello

Happy Valentine's Day & My One Month Anniversary in AUCKLAND!!! Mwahahaha...

It's Valentine's Day!! Where are my flowers?? =P Should get use to not getting flowers but I want to take this chance to say Happy Valentine's Day to my friends... I was so touched when Rachel sms me to say Happy V Day... Rae, I was preparing to cry at the spot I was on but unfortunately it's in my physics lab, so I cried in my heart... You were soooo sweet!! Then I noticed that this was the date I arrived at New Zealand last month... It has been a month, A MONTH! I feel like I've been here all my life until I get out and walk or sit in the car... I'm so unfamiliar here... Miss all my great friends in Kuching and also in my form class, 5 Beta. Here my form class is more like only for notices and miscellaneous... Don't really meet my form class unless they are in some of my classes but it's hard. Miss the ties between our friends... Ke Li, Khoo Sin, Siew Hui, Baldwina, Yae Ping, Candy... So many of them, and usually I spend my lunch alone because they all have their own cliques... I guess that's all for this time! Will TRY to update you guys as much as I can, but I'm lazy lazy lazy... Hehehe... That's my characteristic!!!

Chinese New Year?? Hmm...

I've just found out that I've not blogged for 6 days... Haha... I'm bad at this! Have been so busy for the last few days, school plus a trip for the new international students in my school, Auckland Girls' Grammar School. The trip itdelf was fun. Went to the Britomart Train Station. I've been there once, my cousin showed me around the station. I was so sorry that I couldn't take a train ride. Then went to Downtown harbour, was so excited that we'll be able to sit on a ferry... Mind you, a ferry here is very nice... Not like the ones at the ferry points' in Lundu and Sibu. Found out that I'm really lousy... Got sea-sick even though the ferry was not moving yet. I was thinking how am I going to survive the ferry ride when I'm already sea-sick. Went to Devonport, 10 minutes by ferry... I don't throw up when I'm sea-sick. Just had a really bad headache and was swaying left and right when I got on the ground. Luckily a friend handed me a herbal sweet. Went round Devonport town, sight-seeing... Then went to Cheltenham beach... The beaches are so gorgeous... It's really the clear, blue sea... The sandy beach is almost golden white... Took some group photos... Then went back to the city. We arrived at Auckland War Memorial Musuem... Didn't really tour it... Really sorry. Wemt to see the Manaia Maori cultural performance. Amazing, they can really sing and dance... Plus the "kapahaka" or known as the "haka" is really fearsome. Will tell more when I could get more information. The musuem is situated in Auckland Domain which is really a big park. We had lunch, pizza in the domain. The weather was just fabulous. Sunny and blue... Then we went back to school. Not much but really had fun! That day was also Chinese New Year's eve. Not like Kuching where you can get fresh seafood... but this one was also not bad... My aunt had a steamboat going... Great dinner but not like home... Miss my parents a lot, especially that day as it's a day of gathering... What to do?? My school started earlier so... No CNY in Kuching. The first day of new year was nothing much. Did visit my relative here, my mother's cousin. So, did get some "angpows" from them. At least this custom is not dead here yet... hahaha... Miss the festive feeling in Kuching. It's so cold here, but did wish "Happy Chinese New Year" among my China friends. School's ok. Got lost a few times and was late to class. I still prefer the Malaysian system *hehe* where the teacher goes to the students not vice-versa. I'm taking up violin lessons here... So, still have to practice but I think should learn a lot as the education system is different here. The students don't stay togther much unless you have at least two or three same subjects at the same period... If not, we have just to meet in breaktimes and lunch times. This will be the 3rd week of schooling and some examinations are coming up this week. Do pray that I can do well. Church is fine... Still have to get use to Chinese... Practice makes perfect I guess... Making lots of friends here... At least I've got a Maori friends. Most of them are not that friendly... The Caucasians are still ok... Asians definitely a lot. So, I think I'm settling down just nice but miss the food in Kuching... Laksa, Kueh Chap, Asam Curry Fish Head... *drooling* hahaha...

School's.......... Lots of mixed feelings.

I started school like 2 days ago, but today was the real thing. We were divided to 7 form classes... That's big... Counting that it's a girls' school. Not used to it anyway. Been in a co-ed school like forever and now I've gotta settle down in a girls' school? Anyway the only thing I am afraid is that I would not do well in my studies. What to do? Did make some more friends today. They are part of a gang. I wouldn't decribe them as the most popular girls but they are really sweet. They took me around the school and took care of me. Really glad to meet them!! So that's my 3rd day at school. Lessons will really start next Monday... Oh how I hate walking to school... It's like on a really steep hill. What a great way to slim down!!! However, it's really tiring going uphill but cool going downhill... Wish me all the best in my studies and pray that I have chosen the right subjects... God bless you all...

1st day at school... *-*

This is my first day at school, at least for international students. There were 15 of them... I think 6 of them are Japanese (3 of them on 3 months basis) and one Vietnamese and one Thai... With the exception of me... All the others are from China. So, there's lots of Chinese hanging around. I'll be studying Year 13 or Form 7 this year and only another Chinese is with me. The others would be studying Year 11 or Year 11. Lucky today my cousin went to school with me. She's an ex-student. At least I don't feel so lost. Today was really filling out forms and a bit of briefing. Tomorrow there will be a welcoming for new students (locals and international), a "powhiri" as they called in Maori. There was this English tests to test our English standards... I think I did ok in it... I've not made up my mind what subjects to take yet, at least I've not finalised it yet. Hope that I'll make new friends there and also fit in school. ^_^
