Holidays are soon over...

My holidays will officially over in... 3 days and I do not want them to end. It's so nice having a holiday for the first time without tons of homework piled up to my neck.

I spend most of my holidays reading, sleeping, eating (getting really fat... I hope to control my weight but not my hunger...) and walking... Surprised?? I live so near the city centre so most of the time I'm just window shopping or when I do buy things, don't look at me!! I can circle a place at least 5 times. Sorry SIS!! I'm trained professionally in KL and also Kuching and Sibu by my mum. Heheheh...

Ok... It's almost near my trip to Rotorua... I hope I get really good room mates and I don't freez to death there. It's snowing there for goodness sake.

Any chance of getting a reference book on Katherine Mansfield's "In A German Pension" like in Malaysia??? Haiz... 3 pages in 45 minutes is killing me...

I'm SUPPOSED to be STUDYING!!!

ERm... what am I doing in here??? I'm now in Auckland University (City Campus) and it's still freezing the heck out of me... I can wear really thick clothes and still shiver in them... My oh my!! Now I'm staring at the computer with a History text book in front of me but all I'm thinking is... "Can I slip into my warm bed and go to sleep again??" The purpose I'm in Auckland Uni is to study and escape from temptation but apparently I'm failing... Haizz... STUDY!!! Life's not easy... I want to go home and just sleep but I know if I do I'll disappoint lots of people... Hard hard hard... Ok... I must not touch the computer until I finish at least 2 chapters!!
Wish me luck and do pray for my studies...

REUBEN MORGAN!!!! The drummer is way sooooooooooo COOL!!!!!!!! Posted by Hello

That was juz the warm up from the church's worship group... Posted by Hello

That's the stage... What is my cousin taking anyway?? Posted by Hello

Sundays are for rest or is it the opposite???

My normal Sunday here in Auckland is different from what I experience in Kuching. Here church starts in the afternoon where as in Kuching it's starts in the morning. My biological clock is still adjusting to it.

However, this Sunday is different as my others. My cousin, Vincent decided to attend our church's English service. We walked to church which took us around 15 minutes. The service was good but I thought the worship was not-so-good as the worship leader decided to jazz up every song... I mean EVERY SONG!! That was kinda sad. Then went to Chorr Lim to eat lunch. Melissa treat us to lunch as she started working... It's a tradition in our family. After that it was church again. After church we had adult Sunday School. Who says that only children need Sunday School?? Adults need them as much as a child need... Spritual growth is very important in being a Chritian. However I don't think I'm growing as much as I would like to be as I still fall asleep everytime I watch the VCD. Bad eh?

At night we had two very important activities.
1. Rueben Morgan from Hillsongs is having a worship session.
2. Two of our church members are moving to Australia on Wednesday and tonight is their farewell night.
So we decided to go to the worship session then ask a church friend to send us to the farewell party. Again we walked there. The weather is getting really cold. at night it can get down to 1 digit... Brrr... So cold and it's not winter yet and I'm in AUCKLAND!!! Those in Dunedin will be worse... They can go downn to minus degrees in Winter... However the worship made it up for the weather. IT was sooooooooooooo cool!!! The church itself was cool enough!!!! It's a theather really but one thing is that the sound system is really bad... Too loud for my taste... However the worship really rocks!! Be still got us really worshipping, One Way got us to dance!! Sorry that we had to leave. I'll post some pictures, depending on what Vincent took. I'm not the photographer so don't blame me...

A friend... is a week when you need a day.
A friend... is a crutch when you have a brokenheart.
A friend... is some glue when everything falls apart.
A friend... is a sun when the rain just won't stop.
A friend... is your mom when you run into a cop.
A friend... is a phone call when you can't leave your home.

Busy... but not achieving my goals...

Ok... I should blog more... It's the hols right?? Hahaah... I've been all over Auckland CBD (Central Business District)for the last three days.

First day I was out by 11am. Accompanying my cousin out... Anyway it was an excuse to get out of the house after being inside for days after the holidays started. So we went downtown first. Passing the sky tower and seeing at near for the first time, we decided to take a look at the vertical jump off the sky tower. We knew some one is coming down because there was a photographer posing to take photos of those who comes "flying" down. All went well and a person came down. The funniest part is that right after the person jumped down, he/she got stuck. He/she just stayed there near the top still for at least a minute. I wonder what the compensation would be... Another free round of vertical jump?? I would not do that again... Killing me will be faster... (Just an expression... I'm finding myself more & more --> Violent) So we went walking sown Queen Street. It was cool... Looking at all those clothes but the price tags are very... "beautiful" too... I loved those Billabong guys shirts and sweaters... Sooooo nice!!! Can I wear them?? Then went to Auckland University. Cool computer lab and library. I also found out the price of the course I want to study... IT's HORRENDOUS!! An ABOMINATION!!! AAAWWWWWW!!!!

The next day also started oof with me getting out of the house by 10.45am. I'm supposed to meet a friend at the City Library to discuss about the Physics homework we were given when we went to Rainbow's End. She was late because there was no bus (the bus drivers went on strike that day... AGAIN! Twice in a month lolz...) and she had to drive over. She lives around 15 minutes away from the city. Parking in the city is also another problem. It's damn expensive... $3 for an hour?? Whole day parking would cost around $15. Haiz... So we discussed from 11.30am til 1pm. Couldn't even finished a single page which all of it was "explain" or "why" or "discribed"... EWWWWW!!! Then both of us were too hungry to go on. We put the reference books at the "gradening" part of the library. Too lazy to put it back upstairs. I wonder what would people think when they find Physics at the Gradening section. What does Physics has to do with Gradening?? Hmmm... We went around the city looking for food. At the 3rd place, we decided to eat there. Why?
1. It's cheap
2. I'm to embarrassed to ask her to find another place.
3. Too lazy to walk again.
4. Still, it's cheap.
Ok... I regretted it when my food came. It was tasteless and the "seafood" consisted of 3 very "unfreshed" prawns and a few sticks of... SOUR SUIRAMI!!! (incidentally is crab sticks)... What a waste... I WILL NEVER STEP MY FOOT INSIDE THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!! Argh! How disgusting... Waste of $5...
After lunch we went back to the library again. To finish up our work... Still after 2 and a half hour, we cannot finished it... Heheeh... One reason was that we were riding up and down the escalators because we wanted to estimate the height of the pirate ship... The library was humongous and high enough to do so... We went home at around 4.45pm. At least most of the calculations we managed to finish or the whole day would be wasted.

Friday came... I woke up really late... I guessed I was too tired with late nights (at least 1am before sleeping) and waking up at around 8am. Melissa was working so only Vincent and I was at home. We had planned to eat pizza today as he had some coupons for cheaper pizzas. We watched "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" for an hour before hunger overtook the need of watching tv. We walked to Pizza Haven at Atrium and Elliot. Took us 20 minutes. However, walking here is so different and it only felt like 10 minutes. Heheheh... Vincent also said not to bring me out again because I had managed to listen to others' conversations. NOT MY FAULT!! They were talking so loud that you can't help overhearing them. Hmzz... It's getting really cold now but I think I'm still crazy. I can wear shorts n t-shirts around the house while others were wearing long pants and long sleeves t-shirts. Heheheh... I like snuggling into my duvet at night... It's so much warmer...

Ok... That's all for this week... I had planned to at least revised and do some questions on Statistics and Physics as they were my hardest subjects and also a few essays for my English. HAizz... Did not achieved even one... MUST DO THAT NEXT WEEK!! Hols are for us to have fun but also not until I neglect my my studies...

=)

One of my favourites songs...

Consuming Fire - Tim Hughes

Verse 1:
There must be more than this
oh breath of God come breath within
There must be more than this
Spirit of God we wait for you
Fill us anew we pray
Fill us anew we pray

Chorus:
Consuming Fire
Fan into flame
a passion for your name
Spirit of God
fall in this place
Lord have ur way
Lord have ur way
with us

Verse 2:
Come like a rushing wind
Fill us with power from on high
Now set the captives free
leave us abandoned to your praise
Lord let your glory fall
Lord let your glory fall

(repeat chorus)

Stress Management... Good to read it...

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised aglass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass of water?" Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.

The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it."

"If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour,I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. "In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on."

"As with the glass ofwater, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden."

"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can."

"Relax; pick them uplater after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy it!"

And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:
* Accept that some days you're the pigeon , and some days you're the statue.

* Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

* Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

* Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.

* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warningto others.

* Never buy a car you can't push.

* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.

* Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

* Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.

* The second mouse gets the cheese.

* When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

* Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.

* You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.

* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

* We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some
have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

* A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Rides are really...

As you know I had my work experience this week for the first three days of the week. I didn't give much details. I'm into Early Childhood Education now and as you know, New Zealand is famous for it's Early Childhood Education. So I took the chance this term to work at a day-care centre. It's just next to my school and it's called Auckland Girls' Grammer School Day-Care Centre. (Not really creative right? Should be like Baby Geniuses or something like that.) It started out okay. It was kinda fun but I was a bit sad as the kids had no programme. They just played the whole day. Managed to make a few friends too... They were soooo cute... Brady, Oskar, Peter, Angelo, Annie, Sadie, Sophie... Awww... They were sooo cute. Missed them a lot when I went back to school.

After three days at the day care centre, I had a physics trip to an entertainment park. It's called Rainbow's End. Waa... When I heard of it, I went "WOW!! GREAT MAN!!!!!!!" Okay... I was thinking like sort of a Disneyland scale theme park. Enormous, fun, lots of rides... The trip was for us, Physics students, to know more about rotational inertia and also mechanics. Lots of things to learn. We were all given a protactor (enlarged one...), vertical accelerator (which apparently it's not functioning at all...) and also a workbook which was to be handed in the first Friday of the next term.

We reached Rainbow's End quite early, at 9.30am. However, it opens at 10am. Why are we there so early when the park is not open yet? So we waited in the hot sun (It may be autumn but it's still hot yet... juz with cold wind) for the park to open. I guess the staff "ko lien" us so they let us in earlier. We were all handed a timetable (What for... Who has ever heard of a theme park having timetables??? *my friend's opinion) and also a map which was practically useless as the park is not scaled down to it... Asking is always better than a map. It's not as big as we imagined... Infact quite small compared to the ones I've went to at Thailand and Indonesia.

I was feeling exhilerated. I've never had the guts to sit on something that goes up and turns round and round. However, with friends, that's another story. I knew I had to go... The first ride we planned was to go on the dodgems or should I say bumper cars? It was not opened yet so we went to another one. Then we heard screams... So... Curiousity got hold of us... So... We went towards the screams. It's the Power Surge... It goes round and round and also goes up... Yr sit will also turn round individually. Ok... That's not one of my fav rides, but who cares?? It's a brand new day so I should try a brand new thing. Went up... Still ok... Then went it started, one of my friend started screaming. I still kept my cool (ok... I closed my eyes really tight) until the chair I was sitting on turn round and round... OMIGOSH!!!!!! That scared the heck out of me. I started screaming on-n-off... I came down really shaken but still ok. My friends Xu, Yan Li and Koey never even screamed at all... They came down saying "That's not fun at all..." What the...? I was sooo... haiz... Then we went on to the Fear Fall which was similiar to the one like in Genting which is like falling 18 storeys down within 3 seconds. I was too shaken so I didn't go. My three "robot" friends went. Only Xu screamed all the way down. The other two was so indifferent. Xu was complaining that it's no fun going on rides with them. So she insisted that I go on every ride with her so someone will be screaming along with her. Anyway, she never screamed at all.

The next one was the roller-coaster. I have never been on one. There were few chances for me to go on but I didn't had the guts so... like that lah!! Xu insisted that I try it so, on I went. Ok... It started ok. Goes up really slowly then it speeds up. Then all I felt was round, up and upside down. At least twice for each... It's sooo scary!!!! When we got to the station, the staff asked if anyone wants to get out. Extraordinary... I was the only one who put up my hand. Chicken eh??! Xu was like "Esther, don't get out... Don't leave me here..." She said it too late... I got out. I was so woozy... Head was spinning round and round. They came down after the second time, saying "Aww... That's not scary at all..." Silently I guess they want those really really really twisty and turny, going round and round and round...

I had planned going onto the Pirate Ship but too quesy... So I just took the time for it to swing side to side 5 times. Headache was getting worse and also my stomach was groaning for food. I had not taken breakfast... Haha... However, we didn't eat after that particular ride. We went to watch a movie which lasted only 15 minutes with shaky chairs for special effects. That just made me even more sleepy and headachy... Hahaha... Anyway it was like a rocking motion so... sleep it off lo... Then went for lunch. As we had almost all the important rides finished, we took our sweet time eating lunch. The teachers past us at least 3 times... Hahahaa... Went off after lunch to the dodgems... I liked it the most except the part when someone crashes into me and my neck just snaps forward... It's really irritating and it contributes to my ever-growing headache...

One thing I found really weird was that another school was also there for their Physics trip. Epsom Girls' Grammar School. They are counted as the best girls' school and we came in second. So... Should be lots of anomosity between the two schools right? Why do they have to choose the same day as us?? Too much of a coincidence. It's easy to spot them, they wore school uniforms. We AGGS girls do not wear uniforms...

Went back at 2pm. The bus didn't took the highway back, instead choosing a road that goes up & down, turning here and there... O man... My excruciating headache... How am I going to get home like that? I'm walking for goodness sake. Ok... I did make it home and managed to go online for two hours and read two books... Hahahaha... Ok... Very long blog this time... Tired fingers... Hahahaah...

^______^

p.s. Rainbow's End stinks cz... It's expensive (Normal price: $45, student price: $20) and it's not
worth it getting in with only a few rides commentable...

BUSY Busy busy...

SUCH a busy week... After a REALLY lazy week... Y DOES JOHN FITZGERALD KENNEDY HAS TO DIE??? If he doesn't, it'll be sooooo much better. It's not easy stydyng who killed him and with soooo much "cloudiness" surrounding his death, I hate researching all those facts and writing them down. The BIG part was not the written submission... It's the Court of Inquiry. We, History students are given a part and we are supposed to say what that "character" says. It's not easy. Luckily I got quite an easy part, so what I think. There will be two "Court of Inquiry" and I'm in the second. All History students are excused from school for the whole day. I thought "What the...? So long ar??" Apparently yes and even later. Usual school ends on 3.20pm but we ended at 4.45pm... WOW!! However it was a really fun. The other person playing my character is really good. She can speak French (My character is French) so... hahahah... Some dressed up like their characters and some really spoke well... Very convincing. There's this excellent student, Sophie is really good... in practically everything. A prefect, good at sports (she's in the dragon boating team) and good grades... haiz... The written submission was to be handed in the next day. No excuses.

I'll be going for my Work Experience next Monday to Wednesday. Then Physics trip to Rainbow's End (it's an amusement park)... Naa... We are going on all those fun rides to learn mechanical physics... hahahahahaha... Then only one more day of school, the HOLIDAYS!! For two weeks man... Cool!!! I'll end here... I'm too lazy to write more...

Noticed my flip-flops at the side of my name?? It's a sudden inspiration... Hahaha... Posted by Hello

This is supposed to be protected species of tree? bush?... It's native to NZ. Posted by Hello

This is before out boat capsized... Looks like something out of the movie "Perfect Storm" Posted by Hello

Another underwater cave... Tons of them on Goat Island... Posted by Hello

This underwater cave has penguins in it but apparently they were not in... Posted by Hello

Another underwater cave... It's call Shark cave bcoz it looks like a shark's mouth... Posted by Hello

This is the one of the longest underwater cave in NZ... 4got the name but I know there's a myth attached to it. Posted by Hello

Ok... This is definitely not Goat Island. It's the border of the marine reserve. Posted by Hello

See everyone is looking down?? No, they are not sea-sick... Just that the boat has a glass bottom that enables us to see the bottom of the sea... Posted by Hello

That's a snapper i think... That's y I'm bad at biology... I can't remember all the connections n names... Posted by Hello

Is that the island or is it the place we came from?? Posted by Hello

These are blue something fish... Procastinate for too long liao... Posted by Hello

I'm a terrible, horrigible, vegetable procastinator!!!

I've been meaning to write this blog for... 4 days?? However, I've not done it at all. This also happens to my homework but luckily, my teachers gives us at least 2 days to finish it. Haha...

So guys, how's your Easter?? Fun?? Boring?? Too short?? Hmm... I wouldn't complain over here. I had a full 5 days of Easter holidays and I admit, I did not spend my holiday in doing something very special... I slept most of it. Once I lie on my bed, I know that I'll be sleeping at the end of it... ^(00)^ PIG lolz... I guess my habits die really hard... Will asleep once I've nothing to do. akena pea... (I've just learnt it of the tv... it means perhaps) I love sleeping so much...

Ok ok... I did go out... To Goat Island. I know once you listen or see this name, you would wonder has goats have anything to do with the island?? I was gullible enough to think that the island will be full of a varity of goats. It's actually a marine reserve. Auckland University has a base there studying the marine life... Cool, but I didn't have the chance to go... I'm feeling sooo lazy to write more so I will let the pictures take the rest of the part. A picture is worth a thousand words right??

I'm a lazy bum... -___-"
